The King of Tonga is more than a cultural phenomenon it's also a bar and consequently the staff are seriously challenged (joke). Their stories are so compellingly exotic as to be almost unbelievable.

The King's past is shrouded in mystery. Why is there a King Taufa'ahau Tupou currently sitting on the throne of Tonga? How can there be two kings, one over there and one here in Elwood?
Did ancient family retainers smuggle a swaddling prince out of Tonga in the teeth of a catastrophic cyclone? Were a proud Tongan princess' tears drowned by the raging storm as she watched her son and rightful heir to the throne spirited away through the teeth of a monstrous maelstrom in a tiny frail outrigger? Or is it just a crock?
Perhaps we will have to wait until a young(er) and as yet unrecognised claimant to the throne of Tonga steps forward on the passing of his Majesty King Taufa'ahau Tupou.
